With only 6 matches this gameweek, it seems the only priority for many is to field 11 players. To compound matters, the two big teams square off each other in a game that could go either way. It’s Suarez vs Bale – Round 2 – FIGHT! Here’s the Dirstsheet for gameweek 29!

With the horrors of GW27 behind us and the uncertainty surrounding GW29 ahead, we need solid picks and a slice of good fortune to get back on track this week. Here’s The Dirtsheet for Gameweek 28!
The goal of the Burning the Blueprint articles are simple…I look at the players who are not widely owned, but who have the potential to help you get an advantage on your opponents. Next up for examination is Reading’s Ian Harte. (more…)
The double…it’s here! It’s one of those gameweeks where many have decided against loading up on DGW players in fear of the GW27 blank. This gameweek may define a lot of players seasons. The Dirtsheet is crammed with DGW goodness so let’s get down to business…for your reading pleasure..The DIrtsheet for Gameweek 26!
There are a number of factors to consider when choosing your captain for any given gameweek. Firstly, it is crucial to pick a player that is certain to start and play at least 75 minutes (to maximize any bonus point return). Secondly, the fixture must be in the favour of the captain-elect. Preferably, a player with a home time against one of the weaker/defensively poor sides should be selected. Finally, the captain should have shown reasonable signs of form and/or his team should have shown superior attacking threat in recent game weeks.
While the usual gameweek structure of one game per team allows for easier comparison of the potential captain choices, a double gameweek for two or more teams throws up a number of new factors that affects our choice more than usual. With both Liverpool and Swansea playing twice this gameweek due to Swansea’s upcoming showdown with Bradford City on the 24th of February in the Capital One Cup final, we find ourselves with some great choices for captain this week. However, some choices seem to be better than others. We need cold hard facts at hand to determine who is worth of one of the most important captaincy choices of the season. Shall we begin?
A puncture means that the Dirtsheet arrives 20 minutes late. A bit like Demba Ba last week. Robin van Persie proves that nothing is certain in the world of FPL. However, the Killer Bees of Baines, Benteke and Bale did the business last time around. It’s a shame both Ba and Benitez couldn’t follow suit! Never mind, it’s time for The Dirtsheet for Gameweek 25!
Prior to the arrival of Dirtsheet 25 at 9pm tonight, it’s time for the first Burning the Blueprint article. In these articles, we look at the players who are not widely owned, but who have the potential to help you get an advantage on your opponents. With the January transfer window closed, it’s only fitting that I take a look at one of the players who have moved to a new Premier League club. As far as I am concerned, one candidate stands head and shoulders above most of the others, and I mean that figuratively and literally…Christopher Samba.

Just a reminder that Gameweek 24 does not begin until Tuesday. With so many FA cup games taking place at the weekend, the dirt sheet will arrive at 1200 on Tuesday. At least we can enjoy some weekend action without the highs and lows of FPL!
Burning the Blueprint – An Introduction

After the success of the “Return of the King – Steven Gerrard” article, I have been inundated by requests to create a series of follow-ups. It seems that people are hungry for players who could provide an alternative to the “blueprint” players. Even the most stalwart FPL managers are beginning to tire of seeing these same players dominating teams. Felliani, Mata, Michu, Walcott, Bale, Van Persie and Suarez are now owned by so many active players that you will see 5 or more of these players in the same active team more often than not.
With this in mind, I am delighted to announce a new regular feature called “Burning the Blueprint” here on FPL Strategist. Each week, I will take a look at a player who could provide an excellent differential over the next 4-5 game weeks. As a FPL player myself, I am not a fan of short term transfers. I like to bring in players that have good form combined with a favourable run of fixtures.
Now, a word of warning! There are certain players that almost NEED to be in your team if you want to succeed at FPL. The likes of Robin Van Persie, Michu and Mata are proving every week that the are capable of scoring highly regardless of the opposition and there is no point in transferring them out for any player that might appear in these Burning the Blueprint articles. Players listed in these articles are meant to supplement these players, not replace them. The Steven Gerrard article has shown that players can be household names but can still make a superb differential, but I will also be highlighting players who may have passed unnoticed so far. As a reader told me recently, he had not even heard of Angelo Henriquez until I highlighted him in my recent African Cup of Nations review, and sure enough, he scored in gameweek 23!
So let’s see if we can find a few players that will give you that little advantage over your rivals! Check back tomorrow evening to see which player has been selected for the first “Burning the Blueprint” article!
